Phalaenopsis Pelloric SPIKES and MINI PHALAENOPSIS

Well coming along now and I imagine two weeks before this Pelloric Phalaenopsis and the first of 6 (err currently lol) Phalaenopsis to flower! So a steady stream of Phalaenopsis to post up after that!

You can see one of my mini Phalaenopsis in the background. Nearly did not buy it due to its PINK flowers, lol, but it did turn out to be an interesting pink and with not plain! LOL!

Dendrobium nobile Buds & New Shoots

My original Dendrobium nobile now starting to produce buds and shoots right on cue, CHRISTMAS.

Ludisia Red Velvet Flower

First of that spike opened so thought I would post photo up for those interested in the flowers.

Dendrobium kingianum Berry Oda Buds

Well this one is now opening it's first bud in its most developed of 5 spikes as you can see from the pictures.

Oddly I saw some Dendrobium nobile and Odontoglossums in my local Tesco yesterday, rather annoyingly I might add, lol.

Spikes Update for Vanda coerulea & Ludisia Orchids

Well just some latest pictures of the spiking of two of my Orchids but there are a great many on there way and I imagine in around a week's time posts will start up of each of them in bloom and these will contine for about 6 weeks I imagine.

One Dendrobium kingianum is about to open its first cluster of blooms and there are at least half a dozen other clusters about to develop and no doubt more beginning to appear over next week.

The other D. kingianum will no doubt start sending put spikes in about a week or so too.

One Dendrobium nobile is actually starting to produce buds that are currently tiny and will have a couple weeks to get to their large size before they themselves open. I would imagine that by then the OTHER Dendrobium nobile I have will also have started to produce buds.

Vanda coerulea spike and at least TWO buds noticeable currently. Hopefully will be 5 to 7 flowers in all, fingers crossed. Even better s second spike appears?!?! HEHE!!

PHALAENOPSIS ORCHID SPECIES SEEDLING NURSERY

I finally got around to doing my Phalaenopsis Orchid Species Nursery for Seedlings!!
This was due to hearing about the extreme cold, ice and snow now coming out way in the UK!

Simply just thrown together in one of my Moss Gardens and given two lights, one 2.8 Watt LED and a 20 Watt light from Ikea. This sits on an 11 by 11 inch Heat-Mat used for reptiles and a 6 x 11 inch Heat Mat taped to back glass.

Maximum Night Time Temp - 18.5 Deg Celsius
Maximum Day Time Temp - 23.5 Deg Celsius
(December 9th Room Temperature 17 Degrees Celsius when Maximum Tested)

Humidity will be High and around 80 to 90%

I will open door each day to water so humidity will drop. May end up opening later in day too.

So the Phalaenopsis bellina, hieroglyphica, violacea, sumatrana, zebrina and parishii have all been placed inside along with my Trichoglottis pusilla.

Branching new growth and attached roots I now have ... that only leaves its first bloom!

Vanda coerulea spike growth December 2012

This has grown over the last few days so I would assume that in a week, maybe two this should look quite impressive and promising.
